Cheryl Drake-Bowers is a graduate of Furman University with a BA degree in Physical Education and Health. Prior to her graduation from the Therapeutic Massage Training Institute, she was the Director of Adult Fitness at the YWCA of Charlotte. In this position, she taught adult fitness classes and personal training. She is a St John Certified Neuromuscular Therapist and past instructor for St John Seminars under Paul St John.
Cheryl is a licensed massage therapist in North Carolina and has additional training with Precision Neuromuscular Therapy under Doug Nelson, and myofascial release training with Advanced Trainings under Til Luchau. She maintains a private practice in Matthews and has special interests in myofascial release, Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction, structural support for childbirth, and structural approaches to treatment for pain relief that address balance of the forces of form and function in optimizing human wellness.
Other interests are in the areas of volunteer fundraising for education, education for highly gifted learners, hospice care, and support for classical music education. Cheryl has been an active volunteer for Hospice and Palliative Care of the Charlotte Region, Metrolina Regional Scholars Academy, the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra and Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestras.
